Curtin Business School - Excelerate Program

Curtin Business School - Excelerate Economics Scholarship

Congratulations to Gabi Nind who has been selected to participate in Curtin University's Excelerate program for Economics in 2012. This unique 14 week program combines work integrated learning, professional training and industry engagement to high achieving year 12 students. Students attend Curtin University in their state of the art Future Technologies Learning Space where they can attain credit towards a Curtin Business School Commerce degree. This is financed by Curtin Business School. Students receive job application and interview training, get to network with business leaders, participate in simulated stockmarket sessions, attend a two day professional development retreat in the Perth CBD and go on workplace tours of global organisations.

We in the SOSE department are very proud of Gabi who had to complete a three stage application and interview process to be selected. She follows Henry Matthys, who last year successfully won the award for highest achieving Economics student in the program. We wish her every success.

Congratulations to Diren-che Inderjeeth a Year 12 Accounting student who has been awarded a position on the Curtin Business School - Excelerate Scholarship program. He is one of 25 students who will take part in a 14 week program. This exceptional opportunity will allow him to develop business skills, professionalism and maturity while networking with business leaders from International accounting firms e.g. Price Waterhouse Coopers, Ernst & Young etc.

On top of Diren's busy Year 12 schedule he will attend weekly accounting lectures, sit exams, work on assessments and go on a two day development retreat with business leaders in Perth CBD. This program is funded by CBS and allows students to attain credits towards their commerce degrees. This opportunity has given him an enormous boost into the accounting world.
